How to Identify Dyed Agate
- Color saturation: Natural agate has muted, earthy tones. If the color looks “too perfect” or neon, it’s likely dyed

- Heat test: Place a hot needle on the stone — dyed agate will release a chemical smell. Natural agate won’t

- Price: If a “natural blue agate” costs the same as brown agate, it’s almost certainly dyed
